BOYS TO MEN
Boys To Men Groups for 9th-12th grade
This psycho-educational group is designed to address and process the many issues young men face as they transition into adulthood. The group is facilitated by Suzanne Keller, Lori Todd, and Student Resource Officer (SRO) Jack Massaro.
They work to accomplish this goal by bringing in educational guest speakers for presentations on topics such as mental health, communication, stress management, substance abuse/ recovery, healthy relationships, understanding anger, sex education, college/career readiness, vocational opportunities, violence/gang prevention, disability, and inclusion. This group believes in big ideas being shared by people who have real-life experiences.
MISSION STATEMENT
The Source is committed to supporting the mental health, well-being, and educational success of all students. We build public and private partnerships to ensure quality services that are effective, culturally appropriate, and responsive to the diverse, changing needs of students and their communities.
IMPLEMENTATION
This is accomplished through best practices in comprehensive counseling services, prevention programming, advocacy, academic support, employment services, family engagement, basic need fulfillment, free public education / forums, and collaboration with community partners.
